CAD Designer Job at TEKsystems in Tempe

Looking for an estimator with an AutoCAD background that has roots and strong relationships in the Phoenix market.
- Designs fire protection sprinkler systems with accuracy
- Work with the Sales and Technical staff to interpret project specifications and drawings, determining system layout.
- Perform to a professional standard for accurate, neat, error free work, as determined by the department manager.
- Complete engineering requests in accordance with sound business practices and general corporate policies.
- Review individual drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy of work performed.
- Understand and utilize company-drafting procedures.
- Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers.
- Promote a team environment, assisting other Design Engineers with their projects. Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned by Management.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES:
The basic function is to prepare cost estimates and price quotations on new commercial sales and coordinate the preparation of cost estimates on project continuations.
•Collects information for proper quotations from other functions as appropriate
•Ability to perform job site walks as needed
•Assess projects by identifying project requirements, regarding time, labor, and material costs
•Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates
•Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy
Act as the final say in the calculation, analysis, and adjustment of estimates
•Present estimates to sales and management in a timely and professional manner
•Recommend cost-reduction options
•Assist sales team in final project preparation transactions
•Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates, receipts, and project completion documentation
•Must have a strong work ethic
•Must be detail-oriented
•Must complete other projects, as assigned
