The College of Liberal Arts is actively searching for a collaborative and enthusiastic Web Designer to join our team. What We're Looking For:

  • Create responsive, dynamic websites using various graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.
  • Implement design changes to Purdue OWL/College of Liberal Arts websites under art direction and in adherence to Purdue branding guidelines.
  • Provide web design guidance to college staff using Cascade and Word Press to enhance website performance and usability.
  • Work closely with content owners within the College of Liberal Arts to ensure page accuracy.
  • Utilize the approved ticket system to prioritize and complete tasks, meeting design expectations in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report relevant website metrics to encourage user engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accessibility guidelines and uphold design and usability standards for web pages.
As a Web Designer you will need the following education:

Bachelor's degree, in computer graphics technology, web design and development, computer science or related field. Minimum of 4-5 years of experience working in content management systems, including template design and development.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing responsive, dynamic websites.
  • Proficiency in graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.
  • Familiarity of front-end technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, HTML, jQuery and Bootstrap
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for technical problems associated with web pages and applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and document end-user information needs.
  • Time management, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
In this role you will need the following skills:
  • Familiarity with Cascade and Word Press platforms.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud experience
  • Knowledge of current web design and accessibility standards
  • Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics 360
  • Knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Angelfish
