JOB OBJECTIVE:

Barrett-Jackson Auction Company is seeking a Marketing Editor who will work closely with the in-house Marketing team but also interface with numerous other departments in the company as needed. Selected candidate will be responsible for editing, proofing, and writing for in-house print publications, marketing materials, website content and internal/external communication needs, as well as ensuring adherence to house style and maintaining consistent messaging and style throughout all platforms and media. This position is office-based in Scottsdale, AZ and travel is required on a quarterly basis.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage writing, editing, and proofing of company's publications and patron, bidder and consignor-interaction resources.
  • Write and edit a variety of materials, including website content, video scripts, marketing collateral, internal communication, and magazine content.
  • Assist other departments with communication needs and promotional materials as needed.
  • Review and edit all auction car and automobilia descriptions, ensuring consistency and adherence to house style.
  • Proof/edit all marketing materials, eblasts, press releases and social media copy as needed.
  • Maintain and update house Style Guide.
  • Publish feature articles to website.
  • Assist in brand PR and marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and execute promotional activities for events as needed, in tandem with the Sales/Sponsorship Team and Marketing Director.
  • Writing daily auction recaps for publication to the website.
  • Oversee production of monthly internal newsletter.
  • Special projects as assigned.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Friendly and customer service oriented
  • Team player who works in collaboration with other departments
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • Excellent knowledge of AP Style.
  • Ghost-writing experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of automotive terminology and basic understanding of how vehicles work is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under deadline pressure, manage change and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Creativity, time, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Bachelor's degree from in a related field (preferably in public relations, journalism, or communication).
  • 5-7 years working experience in a related field.
