Editor - New York
Fitch is seeking a talented, resourceful and versatile editor for its New York office. The successful candidate will edit and publish English-language rating announcements and research reports to the Fitch Ratings website, working closely with analysts and other business partners.
The editor will handle time-sensitive announcements and research reports from various sectors, including Corporates, Banking, Public Finance, Structured Finance, Leveraged Finance and Infrastructure/Project Finance.

- Perform high-quality editing of rating announcements and research reports for content, grammar, style and structure under deadline pressure.

- Be an agile and efficient editor who's capable of editing content from across different analytical groups and has the ability to collaborate with analysts to produce a high-quality finished product.
- Help to manage content through to completion, including consistency of fundamental ratings information on reports and in databases.
- Become adept at using the Fitch global research publishing applications.
- Provide constructive criticism to analysts on content, structure and grammar.
- Maintain quality standards by editing content of research reports.
- Work with analysts to ensure accuracy of text and graphics.
- Support accuracy and style standards in the publishing process.
- A Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of three years of financial editing experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, bond/equity markets and the credit ratings industry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management.
- Ability to handle multiple releases and reports and edit within tight deadlines.
- The ability to work as part of a close-knit team as well as independently.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Motivated and resilient.
- The ability to adjust elementary formatting in research reports using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Has outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to proactively and successfully interact with various stakeholders, both within and outside of the organization.
- Has a strong desire to make impactful editing decisions, which sharpens the focus and organization of Fitch research and improves readability.

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70,000 and $85,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
