Website Editor/Graphic Designer (Communications Unit)

Position Type: Regular Full-Time Non-Exempt

Location: Minneapolis, MN 55403

Introduction:

Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid is seeking a skilled website editor and graphics designer to maintain MMLA website content and create clean but eye-catching digital design work for print and electronic communications. Candidates who advance to the interview phase will have submitted a diversity statement and a portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, add, audit, edit and create website content.
  • Produce and design collateral and digital content for our annual report, events and donor marketing materials.
  • Provide additional support on communications projects as requested.
  • Maintain media libraries, planner systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in web editing using WordPress.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Canva.
  • Knowledge of brand standards and best practices for accessibility and optimizing the visitor experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a sharp eye for detail and spirit of collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Proficiency in the full Adobe Suite.
  • Ability to proof, edit and apply AP Style guidelines.
  • Ability to write concisely, demonstrating a love of words and interesting phrasing.
  • Photography skills and knowledge of photo composition.
  • Video, cinematography skills and video editing.
  • Knowledge of SEO, Google analytics.
  • Experience in a social or legal justice organization.

The successful candidate will enjoy working independently and in collaboration with team members. They will have an ability to shift focus at a moment’s notice, recognizing dynamics of communications and event planning may be ever-changing and up-to-the-minute.

Compensation Information:

$68,075 – $76,647 per year, depending on experience , plus benefits. Benefits include family medical and dental insurance, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, 403(b) with employer match, FSA, employee assistance programs, and generous paid time off.
