Job Title: Digital Portrait Editor/Floater Photographer
Location: Rebecca Rose Fine Portraits (Austin TX)
Employment Type: Full Time
Reports To: Editing Manager / Director of Studio Operations
Compensation: $24.00 - $25.00 p/hr.
Hours: Hours are Monday - Friday with the exception of weekends when Photography coverage is needed.
Note: as a floater the weekend schedule is on an as needed basis for scheduled vacations/callouts/ etc.

Job Summary
The Digital Portrait Editor/Floater Photographer is an important role that supports two departments for the client. This role primarily focuses on editing with the ability to cover photography session needs during sickness and vacations for the home studio and surrounding studios. This role requires adaptability to complete our signature artistry and the ability to provide exceptional customer service while creating special artwork for all of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Photo Editing & Retouching: Edit, retouch, and color-correct high-resolution portrait images using advanced techniques in Photoshop and Lightroom. Apply skin smoothing, blemish removal, and other retouching techniques while maintaining a natural, realistic look.
- Color Grading: Adjust colors, tones, and lighting to match the desired mood and aesthetic of each portrait, ensuring consistency with our brand style.
- Background and Object Cleanup: Remove or retouch any unwanted elements in the background, clothing, or accessories. Replace backgrounds or extend them when necessary, ensuring a seamless finish.
- Consistent Workflow Management: Organize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects at once, maintaining timely and efficient workflows to meet deadlines.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on all edited images to ensure they meet company standards for clarity, color accuracy, and overall quality before final delivery.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work as a team to produce a consistent level of excellent galleries. Be open to feedback to self-improve and for the team to improve as a whole. High communication among teammates and different departments.
- Flexible Schedule: Available to support photography session needs, this includes on weekends if a photographer is sick or has planned vacation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in high-end photography and retouching.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other relevant editing software. The ability to work across multiple systems and platforms.
- Eye for Detail: Excellent attention to detail, especially in areas like skin tone, lighting, and texture.
- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Artistic Sense: Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling in portraiture.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating high-level retouching and editing work, preferably in portrait photography.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized Training: Certifications or coursework in photo retouching, digital art, or related fields.
- Familiarity with Fine Portrait Editing Styles: Knowledge of techniques specific to classic and fine-art portrait styles, such as dodge and burn, frequency separation, and natural-looking enhancements.
- Understanding of Branding: Ability to match editing style to our brand's specific aesthetic for a cohesive portfolio of work.
