The Embark Internship Program contributes to the spiritual, personal and professional development of the student. As anAssistant Magazine Editor Embark Intern the student will participate in the process of communicating Answers in Genesis' core message throughAnswersmagazine (the award-winning quarterly magazine) andKids Answers(the quarterly children's magazine).
Under the magazine editor in chief, the assistant magazine editor intern will assist in brainstorming ideas, researching, writing, and editing to ensure publication quality and accuracy consistent with Answers in Genesis standards. If your career goals include learning the publication process, receiving editorial mentorship, and collaborating with a creative team to produce engaging apologetics content, this short-term internship offers an exciting opportunity to grow professionally while growing spiritually as well.
The intern will positively influence others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference.The intern should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.

Responsibilities
- Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis
- Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done
- Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset
- Participate in life skills development courses provided for Embark Interns
- Participate in Learning & Development apologetics training
- Serve in the attraction operation departments to display our SERVE core value
- Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments
- Plan content and write copy
- Work with the editor in chief to plan magazine content
- Research and write magazine articles
- Edit content as needed and meet all associated deadlines
- Carry out all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements
- A strong understanding of and support for the core beliefs and messaging of Answers in Genesis
- Excellent editing and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to effectively balance multiple projects and strict deadlines
- Ability and willingness to carry out editorial mandates
- Creativity to generate new ideas for future issues and articles
- Competence with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and InCopy a plus
- Ability to give and receive criticism with a graceful spirit
- Must be able to perform duties at AiG offices (not a remote position)
- Must agree with and sign the AiG Statement of Faith
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church
- Editorial assessment test to be administered by the hiring manager
- Currently earning or have earned a BA in English, journalism, or related field
- Must have a minimum of 45 college credits
- Strong interest in science and Bible topics
