Since our start in 2003 as a single office in Maryland, we have expanded throughout the United States. Our talented team of planners, landscape architects and engineers are committed to delivering quality work that meets the needs of all people, regardless of age, ability, race, or gender. You lead teams from a variety of disciplines; integrating input from a broad range of stakeholders to create award-winning plans that build momentum toward positive change in communities and lead directly to implementation.
Our projects are at all different scales, from national pedestrian and bicycle planning and design guidance for the Federal Highway Administration to State DOT and City Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plans. We work on multimodal corridor studies, Vision Zero, Safe Routes to School, trails and greenways, Complete Streets, and Urban Street Design Guidelines and we push ourselves and our clients to proactively think about equity every step of the way.
Work Schedule for a Senior Planner
This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. This position is currently remote in the Austin, Texas region with the expectation to eventually work in-person 2 to 3 days per week at an office in Austin. We will provide the necessary equipment and flexibility to work remotely along with other Austin-based team members.
About our Austin office

Whether it's helping to deliver Austin's Mobility Bond projects, updating the City's Urban Trails and Sidewalks Plans through ATX Walk Bike Roll, designing high-comfort bikeways in Houston, or creating District-level Bike Plans for TxDOT, Toole Design is helping to shape the future of Texas.
Since 2017, a team of Toole Design engineers and planners have provided full-time, on-site staff augmentation to the City of Austin's Transportation Department to deliver Mobility Bond projects. We are creating a new, standalone Austin office to complement this team by working on a range of planning and design projects across Texas, many of which are already underway. Our vision for our new Austin office is one that is talented, multidisciplinary, diverse, and cohesive.
