Photography and Film Teacher Job at Williston in Easthampton

The Williston Northampton School is an independent co-educational boarding and day school in Easthampton Massachusetts and is a culturally diverse educational community serving grades 7-12. We are seeking to hire a full-time Photography and Film Teacher to begin in August 2025. This position is responsible for teaching photography and film in both upper and middle school; these courses could include, but are not limited to: Grade Eight Photographic Art, Digital Photography, Darkroom Photography, Filmmaking, AP Studio Arts, etc. In this capacity, the Upper and Middle School Photography and Film Teacher is responsible for creating and updating plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum. This position includes involvement with our afternoon athletics and extracurricular activities. Living on campus and working in the Schools residential life program may also be an option with this position. Driving a school minibus is also an expectation of this position. This position will also be called upon to share in photography for school events as needed by the Office of Marketing and Communications.

Strong candidates will have middle or high school teaching experience, preferably within an independent boarding school environment. Candidates will possess a bachelors degree in a relevant field; a masters degree is preferred. Candidates will demonstrate expertise in photography and filmmaking, including digital and analog techniques. Likewise, candidates must possess a capacity for working with a range of learning abilities, experience integrating educational technologies into the teaching environment, strong collaboration and communication skills, a passion for supporting student creativity, and a growth mindset.

Candidates must have the ability to work in a school environment by successful completion of all legally required and school required background checks including the state mandated CORI, Criminal Offender Record Information, SORI, Sex Offender Record Information and a Fingerprint based criminal background check.
