Job description:
The Graphics Designer works in TxDOT's Creative Services section in the Communications Division and will provide creative services for TxDOT's transportation safety initiative, Drive like a Texan. The vendor shall assist TxDOT in the development of creative strategies and concepts in order to meet the goals and objectives of the campaign.
Key Responsibilities:
•Collaborate closely with the creative team to design campaign materials, including digital ads, social media graphics, billboards, and print assets.
•Develop visually compelling concepts that align with the campaign's messaging.
•Ensure all creative designs reflect the unique character and values of Texas, incorporating campaign typography, colors, and styles.
•Produce dynamic and creative artwork for various formats, including digital ads, print layouts, OOH (out-of-home), social media and collateral materials.
•Maintain a consistent visual identity across all campaign materials while bringing fresh, creative ideas to the table.
Requirements:
•Ability to blend illustration, color palettes, and typography into cohesive and visually impactful designs.
•Proven experience in graphic design, ideally within advertising, social campaigns, or public awareness initiatives.
•Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
•A portfolio showcasing bold typography, visual storytelling, and a passion for creating work that resonates emotionally.
•Ability to adapt designs across different mediums - from digital to print.
•Familiarity with Texan culture is highly preferred.
•Ability to take direction and respond to briefs while providing original creative perspective.
•Strong communication skills and ability to work remotely, meeting project deadlines.
