The Sr. Experiential Graphic Designer is responsible for managing all aspects of a project from initial ideation to implementation. Under the direction of a Principal or Director, the Sr. Experiential Graphic Designer will lead a team to achieve client satisfaction, financial performance, contract administration, and documentation to produce high-quality complex projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously.
QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years’ experience in Experiential Graphic Design.
Graduate of an accredited design program with Bachelor’s or equivalent design experience in graphic design, environmental graphics, industrial design, or visual communication.
Strong financial, budgeting, and monitoring skills.
Strong design and graphic skills.
Proven ability to integrate Environmental Graphics into the architectural intent of projects.
Proficient in design software: Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator w/ CAD Tools, InDesign, Photoshop, and Sketch-Up, Word, Excel, etc.
Demonstrated skills in construction administration.
Mentoring with the demonstrated ability to lead teams of professionals to meet project objectives.
Strong communication, coordination, and organization skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to articulate a story or narrative to the team, the client, and any outside party in an enthusiastic and convincing way.
Excellent visual communication of ideas and presentation skills via sketching, drawing, rendering.
Understanding of branding principles and their application in physical spaces.
Familiarity with 3D design software or motion graphics is a plus.
Understanding of dimensional fabrication and print production methods.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Adhere to both Cooper Carry and the Client guidelines and meet deadlines within budget for each project.
Maintain knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and resources.
Serve as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
Actively manage client budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments.
Actively participate at the appropriate level in developing and administering Owner and Consultant Agreements.
Participate in proposal/marketing efforts and presentations.
Assist in the development of the Firm's design standards.
Negotiate consultant contracts as required.
Promote a collaborative team atmosphere.
Contribute as required to the overall quality and success of the project, studio, and firm.
Actively participate in professional development and performance management of staff.
Apply and provide project oversight of code requirements for safety and ADA guidelines for accessibility.
Prepare and produce drawings, design, and design intent documents.
Direct junior staff to meet project standards and deadlines.
Inform Studio Team Leaders of potential project opportunities.
Develop and maintain knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and resources.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, landscape architects, and interior designers, to integrate graphic elements seamlessly into the overall design of spaces.
Collaborate within the EGD team to develop creative solutions for environmental graphic projects, including wayfinding, signage, and experiential installations.
Create compelling and innovative graphic designs for various spaces.
Develop visual concepts and presentations that effectively communicate design intent to clients and stakeholders.
Execute design tasks ensuring high-quality deliverables within established timelines.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate fresh ideas into design concepts, including best practices for fabrication and materials.
Conduct research to enhance understanding of target audiences and project requirements.
Work closely with project managers to understand project requirements and objectives to execute design projects from concept through production, meeting established deadlines and quality standards.
Lead the preparation of design documentation, including specifications, production files, and other project-related documentation.
Create physical prototypes or mockups, allowing better visualization and evaluation of designs in a three-dimensional space.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise Experiential Graphic Designers I, II, and III. Responsibilities directly involving subordinates include interviewing, training, project planning, assigning, directing, and proofing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and aiding in problem resolution. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Compensation range offered for this Job Posting: $80k - $90k annually.
