Lab Summary:

As part of MPS (Mobile Platform and Solutions) and SRA, you will be a member of the Advanced Research Team focusing on rendering pipelines related to XR (AR, MR, VR) technologies focusing on building the next generation head mounted displays. We focus on both commercial and next gen technologies that impact Samsung's vision for the next few years. As such you will be working on commercial-level products as well as future research.

Position Summary:

We are looking for an outstanding and highly self-motivated Staff Software Engineer. We are looking for candidates with algorithms, frameworks and application development background. This is a great opportunity to join Samsung AR/VR team which is focused on building the next generation head mounted displays (HMDs). The candidate will have a chance to work closely with various cross-functional engineers to design, develop, debug and deploy many aspects towards the rendering pipeline and also work with hardware engineers for display interfaces. Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test and debug various cutting-edge 3D graphics algorithms, techniques and tools for the best graphics quality and performance on mobile and HMD devices
  • Effectively use debugger & profiler to identify and fix functional & performance issues in various graphics framework sub-components using C++ and OpenXR frameworks.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance
  • Collaborate with various cross-functional teams within the mobile division and also with other Samsung subsidiaries across the globe to deliver the optimal graphics solutions
  • Write high-quality and maintainable code, perform code reviews and document the graphics features
  • Participate in new product concepts and create proof-of-concept prototypes to deliver innovative AR/VR products
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 7+ years of software development experience with strong C and C++ programming
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with 3D graphics algorithms and applications using rendering APIs like Vulkan and OpenGL
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with design, implementation and optimization of frameworks and applications in mobile/Android programming
  • AR/VR or any other forms of HMDs development is a plus
  • Familiarity with GPU architectures and AR/VR standards such as OpenXR is a plus

The base pay range for roles at this level is listed below, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors-including the role's function and location as well as the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.

Base Pay Range

$151,200-$207,750 USD
