What we are looking for:
As a 3D Synthetic Data and Graphics AS, you will be working with a team of Applied Scientists in 3D Reconstruction and Animation. This role will partner closely with our Research, Machine Learning, Engineering, Film Innovation, and VFX teams in the US and UK offices. In this role, you will be expected to be a subject matter expert in advanced computer graphics, such as 3D modeling & rigging, computer animation & simulation, physics-based BRDFs, and volumetric rendering. Our work in automated visual translation is just the beginning, and we are developing countless exciting products based on the application of our proprietary, cornerstone research.
Responsibilities:
* Working on one (or more) of key aspects below toward generating photorealistic digital human.
* Innovate and implement advanced animation and simulation techniques, including blend shapes animation, finite element simulation, and surface deformation.
* Apply physically-based simulation techniques to deformations of soft and rigid bodies, including vertex, surface, and volume deformations.
* Develop and enhance animation techniques, such as skinning, blendshapes, and forward and inverse kinematics.
* Employ state-of-the-art rendering techniques like realtime rasterization, ray tracing, bi-directional path tracing, dynamic lighting, and physics-based rendering development.
* Work with advanced geometry modeling techniques, including point clouds, meshes, and volumetric data (3D Gaussians, NeRFs).
* Write and optimize high-performance code in C++ and Python.
Qualifications:
* BS in Visual Computing, Computer Science, or related field industry or research experience with computer graphics and vision.
* Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, with a focus on writing efficient code.
* Experience in cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.
* Experience in 3D modeling and rendering software, e.g., Blender, Houdini, Maya.
* Experience or Proficiency in one(or more) of key aspects 3D animation and simulation techniques, including blendshapes, finite element methods, and surface deformation.
* Physically-based simulation methods for various types of deformations.
* Geometry modeling and processing, including working with point clouds, meshes, and volumes.
* 3D Rendering techniques, including rasterization, ray tracing, volumetric rendering, and shader programming.
* Experience with modern machine learning and deep learning methods toward computer vision and computer graphics applications.
* Experience working in collaborative teams comprising researchers, applied scientists, and platform developers.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Visual Computing, or a related field.
* Experience with cutting-edge graphics problems, including the development and implementation of novel techniques in animation and rendering.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, production-level code in a collaborative environment.
* Familiarity with differentiable rendering tool(kits), such as Mitsuba, PyTorch3D, and NeRFStudio
* Experience with GPU tools and libraries, such as CUDA, CuPy, Jax, etc.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
$160,000 - $200,000 a year

* 30-45 minute zoom with our recruiting team (We want to discuss your interests and motivations as well as the practical details and make sure that Flawless would be a good fit for you).
* 45 minute Technical Discussion with the Hiring Manager
* 60 min live virtual Coding Test
* 60 min System Design
* 60 min Domain Depth
