AMD together we advance_ Role: The AMD Compute and Graphics (CG) Memory Systems Engineering Team is looking for a dynamic, technical, experienced Memory System engineering leader to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s product portfolio, you will be part of a high-performance AMD team driving the delivery of high quality, industry leading product technology to market. The Memory Engineering team is responsible for memory validation technology advances (described below) and execution of memory sub-system pre-silicon and post-silicon validation of all CG products, including Client, Graphics, and semi-custom. This leader will foster and encourage continuous technical innovation, showcase successes, as well as facilitate continuous career development Key Responsibilities: As the CG Memory leader, you will lead a global team to drive planning and execution for the memory subsystem throughout pre-silicon validation, post-silicon bring-up, feature enablement, debug, characterization, and qualification for AMD Client, Graphics, and semicustom products. The product portfolio spans DDR, LPDDR and GDDR memory technologies. On some products, you will represent the memory validation plans and status of confidential programs directly to the customer. In addition to memory product validation, you will lead the team in the area of "memory technology", including: JEDEC representation/influence—driving CG memory requirements through JEDEC representation and working with the AMD central memory leadership. Memory vendor management—responsible for partnering with vendors to establish a strategic memory roadmap including co-validation agreements, etc. Working with SOC architects to define memory interface architecture for CG roadmaps. Drive pre-silicon validation ("shift-left") innovations for feature enablement and validation. Competitive analysis for memory subsystem optimization (e.g., training, residency in low power states) Preferred Skills: Leading all aspects of pre- and post-silicon validation of the memory subsystem Provide technical direction, fostering innovation and improving execution for a team that is spread across multiple geographies. Reporting to the VP of system engineering, performance reviews, coaching and talent development Develop close relationships with system architecture, design and IP validation, and production engineering teams. Interact with customers directly on some products. Participate in definition of architecture, microarchitecture and design implementation of various state-of-the-art shift left strategies. Engaging with the various memory suppliers for support of SOC and system development and validation execution Preferred Experience: Focus on high-speed interface technology, memory controllers and/or I/O controllers 15+ years of experience in microprocessor or GPU design or validation including I/O, with direct experience in memory subsystem. SOC design/verification, memory validation and/or SOC IP electrical characterization Working knowledge of various memory technologies such as DDR, GDDR, LPDDR and others Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal, executive, and customer facing interaction. Must be a self-starter, able drive tasks to completion independently in a dynamic team working environment. Ability to foster and positive, innovative, execution-oriented team culture Ability to flex responsibilities over the development lifecycle.
