Job Summary
We are seeking an Acquisitions and Access Librarian to join the Knowledge Center, supporting RPPE economists, policy advisors, and research assistants by ensuring access to necessary information resources and economic data. Reporting to the Research Library Manager, this role is responsible for managing data licenses, subscription renewals, procurement-related tasks, and liaising with internal departments to determine information needs. The Acquisitions and Access Librarian plays a crucial role in maintaining information resources that support the RPPE's contribution to the FOMC process and scholarly research.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase, license, and renew library resources, ensuring access to information resources.
Manage data licenses and other subscription licenses, including understanding terms and conditions.
Determine user needs and negotiate with information and data providers.
Conduct procurement-related tasks such as creating purchase orders, reconciling invoices, and processing commitment letters.
Oversee electronic access and resolve technical issues to ensure seamless resource availability.
Required Qualifications
ALA-accredited MLIS or MSIS (new and recent graduates encouraged to apply).
Minimum of one year of experience in a library environment.
Knowledge of electronic resource licensing.
Proficiency with computer software applications and databases.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for all levels.
