This position is located in the U.S. Special Acquisitions Section, U.S./Anglo Division, Acquisitions & Bibliographic Access Directorate, Discovery and Preservation Services.
The Supervisory Librarian will manage the U.S. Special Acquisitions Section (USSA) within the U.S./Anglo Division of the Directorate of Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access (ABA). This section is responsible for acquiring all non-serial collection material from the United States, excluding books obtained through copyright deposit, Cataloging in Publication, or routine government transfer. It handles most of the special collection materials added to the Library’s collection, including high-profile donated collection materials. The incumbent will oversee the work of librarians and library technicians, manage acquisitions and cataloging functions, and perform administrative and human resource management tasks. The position requires independent work and considerable judgment, adhering to broad guidelines and policies.
