Summary Statement

Join the Community Engagement Team as the Marketing Manager for the Library and play a key role in making Boises libraries more dynamic, visible, and accessible! In this role, youll collaborate closely with the Office of Community Engagement and Library to craft compelling marketing strategies that connect our community with the Librarys valuable programs, services, and events. From overseeing digital marketing and content creation to fostering meaningful community engagement, you'll help ensure the library remains a valued resource. The Marketing Manager - Libray develops and implements marketing strategies that enhance the visibility and accessibility of Library services, programs, events, and resources to the community. Collaborates closely with the Office of Community Engagement and Library Department leadership to align marketing efforts with citywide strategic goals. Ensures the library remains an essential and vibrant resource for Boise residents, fostering a deeper connection with diverse audiences and driving community engagement through innovative marketing initiatives. This position works under limited supervision.

Essential Functions

+ Marketing Strategy and Campaign Development

+ Develops and implements integrated marketing strategies that promote the Librarys services, programs, and events while supporting the broader goals of the Office of Community Engagement.

+ Works collaboratively with city departments to integrate department messaging within broader citywide campaigns, ensuring cohesive and consistent communication.

+ Creates cohesive marketing plans that utilize digital, print, and social media channels to reach diverse audiences and strengthen community relationships.

+ Content Creation and Brand Management

+ Oversees the creation and management of marketing content, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.

+ Produces and coordinates the development of print materials, newsletters, social media, and website content.

+ Works with the community engagement team to create cohesive materials that resonate with the community and reflect the library and citys mission statements.

+ Digital Marketing and Social Media Management

+ Leads digital marketing efforts for the Library, including website updates, search engine optimization, and social media engagement.

+ Tracks and analyzes digital marketing performance, using data-driven insights to enhance campaign effectiveness.

+ Implements best practices for audience engagement and growth across digital channels.

+ Community Engagement and Event Promotion

+ Coordinates with community partners, city departments, and local organizations to promote the Librarys services and events.

+ Develops and executes promotional plans, driving attendance and participation through targeted marketing efforts.

+ Utilizes community feedback to ensure the needs and interests of residents are being met.

+ Represents the Office of Community Engagement and the Library Department at events and activities.

+ Analytics & Reporting

+ Tracks and reports on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using key performance metrics and insights to refine strategies and inform future marketing efforts.

Provides regular updates to the community engagement team, library team, and the Library Board of Trustees, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or a related field and five years of experience in marketing, preferably in a library, public sector, or non-profit environment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, with demonstrated experience in digital marketing, content creation, and branding.

Knowledge of:

+ marketing principles and tools;

+ and project management principles and processes.

+ communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance

Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training

Fluency in Spanish.

Licensing And Other Requirements

Valid state-issued driver's license.

Applicants must be able to pass:

City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
