DAYS/HOURS WORKED: Varies, may include evenings and weekends

JOB DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Works under the supervision of the Library Facilities Coordinator, and under the general guidance of the Library Facilities Lead Custodians.
Supervision is not exercised in this position.
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of the Library, its grounds, and related facilities.
Required to work a flexible and varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Maintain good working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, other City personnel, and the public.
Maintain organized work area and monitor supplies.
Keeps records as required by the Library.
May perform minor maintenance on equipment.
May serve on various employee committees, as required and assigned.
May operate a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.
Attendance is an essential function of this position.
Complies with all circulation and library procedures and policies, and the City guidelines, rules, regulation, procedures, and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS
A pre-employment physical and or drug/alcohol test is required for this position.
This position is subject to the City's Drug- and Alcohol-Free Workplace Program, which includes pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing.
Background check is required.
This position has the responsibility to participate in and comply with the City's Environmental, Health, and Safety Program.
Valid driver's license required with acceptable driving record for past three years.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other City personnel and the public.
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent required.
Knowledge of building maintenance including housekeeping and janitorial procedures and ability to operate the related equipment.
Knowledge of janitorial products and application procedures is desirable.
Ability to learn how to correctly mix various cleaning solutions, and use the correct solution for the correct purpose.
Ability to make minor repairs to facility and equipment is desirable.
Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to operate tools and equipment listed.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Janitorial equipment, including but not limited to, vacuums, mops, brooms, dusting equipment, floor machines, burnishers, various hand and power tools, and power lifts; motor vehicle; telephone and mobile radio.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
