Job Duties

Provides quality educational programs that enable inmates to become responsible, productive, tax-paying members of their community. To provide quality library services for inmates, to include maintaining an organized, up-to-date media resource center, teaching library skills and selecting and organizing library materials.

This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. Experience of library policies and procedures; experience working with a certified librarian and managing a library in a public or educational environment. Working knowledge and experience in library services and management in an educational environment; working knowledge of general library practices and acquisitions; ability to interact effectively with diverse population. Knowledge of Library policies and procedures; experience working in a library in a public or educational environment. Ability to interact effectively with inmates. Skilled in computers and software applications.

Additional Considerations

Advanced knowledge and ability to interact effectively with inmates. Experience of Correctional Education.
