Hours/Schedule: This position is a part-time school-year position with a total of 7.5 hours scheduled per day (30 minute unpaid lunch break) with an expectation to be here at a minimum of all days students are in the District. Expectation for actual days worked will be determined by the Building Principal.
Rate of pay: The current base rate for this position is $15.00 per hour. Depending on previous work experience or any relatable education or certifications you may hold, this rate could increase by $1.00 to $2.00 more per hour. Final determination of applicants individual starting pay rate will be determined by the Business Office/HR.
Benefits: As a part-time school-year employee, this position is not eligible for full benefits but is eligible for some supplemental benefits (accident, critical illness, etc). All staff are automatically enrolled from day one, in the state sponsored retirement program, IPERS. The District contributes 9.44% of your wages to this. IPERS requires that you contribute 6.29% of your wages.
Paid Leaves/Holidays: The District offers both paid sick leave and paid personal leave along with 5 paid holidays; Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Memorial Day.

Summary
- Assists in the daily operations of the school library, supporting the Teacher Librarian in maintaining an organized and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff.
- Ensures the efficient circulation of library materials, provides excellent customer service, and assists in various clerical and administrative tasks as directed by the Teacher Librarian and/or Building Administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the check-in and check-out process for library materials.
- Shelve returned books and other materials in their proper locations.
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions.
- Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff in locating and using library resources.
- Answer inquiries and offer guidance on library policies and procedures.
- Assist in the supervision of students using the library.
- Process new materials, including cataloging, labeling, and preparing them for circulation.
- Maintain the library's inventory and assist in annual inventory checks.
- Perform data entry and maintain the library management system.
- Prepare and distribute overdue notices and other communications as needed.
- Ensure the library is neat, organized, and conducive to learning.
- Assist in setting up displays and promotional materials for library programs and events.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist the School Librarian in organizing and conducting library programs, activities, and events.
- Help with the preparation and distribution of promotional materials for library events.
- May be required to perform District-wide support services in case of emergency situations.
- Other duties as assigned.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working in a library or educational setting preferred
