The Wausau Woodchucks and Wausau Softball Club are seeking qualified individuals to manage and produce the game day live stream of the Woodchucks games along with creating video content and graphics for social media. This position offers the opportunity for current college level students looking to gain real world video production and media relations experience to position themselves for a career in sports broadcasting and digital media. The Multimedia & Video Intern must be available for all home games, along with any additional events assigned throughout the season.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Setup, operate and problem solve a 4-camera video broadcast of 36 home games
  • Capture, edit and publish game highlights for NWL use
  • Produce commercials for NWL webcast
  • Conduct Player/Coach interviews
  • Conduct and produce promotional segments for social media
  • Work closely with other video staff members to produce a multi-platform live webcast
  • Cut show elements such as b-roll, highlights, batting practice clips and bullpen clips
  • Create graphics for social media
  • Assist with team scouting software


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Pursuing degree in one of the following; Journalism, Video Production, Communications, Sports Management, Business, Broadcasting, Graphic Design
  • Competency in business skills and tools
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including correct grammatical usage
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Organized, motivated, and able to work independent

The Wausau Woodchucks are a founding member of the Northwoods League and are located in Wausau, WI. Annually drawing in more than 40,000 fans from all over the state of Wisconsin, the Woodchucks have a reputation of being a fun, family-friendly option for family and corporate entertainment in Central Wisconsin. The Woodchucks annually hire 15-20 interns. Former interns have gone on to work for the Minnesota Twins, Tennessee Titans, and many other minor league and collegiate league teams across the nation.
