St. Andrew Catholic School in Saline, Michigan is a PreK through seventh grade school and is growing in its second year. We are seeking teachers who are passionate about providing authentic faith formation for their students.
The school seeks a music and vocal music teacher to help lead students to wholeness in the image of Jesus Christ. Under the leadership and direction of the principal and under the care of the pastor of the parish, the key duties of the teacher will be:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; agreement with and support of the Catholic worldview; a strong commitment to Catholic education. Participation in the VIRTUS child protection program will also be required of the successful applicant. Please indicate any areas of expertise or subjects of interest.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Teaching experience and willingness and openness to be trained, Teaching certification. Knowledge of, or willingness to be trained in Spirit of Truth by Sophia Institute and the Disciple of Christ-Education in Virtue curriculum.

The school seeks a music and vocal music teacher to help lead students to wholeness in the image of Jesus Christ. Under the leadership and direction of the principal and under the care of the pastor of the parish, the key duties of the teacher will be:
- Demonstrate effective planning skills by preparing music lesson plans designed to implement stated goals and objectives and by incorporating school and diocesan curriculum objectives in lesson plans in grades preschool thru seventh grade.
- Develop programs for Christmas and Spring concerts and conduct student performances.
- Demonstrate competence in teaching by demonstrating current and thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with students. Must be able to organize the classroom learning environment and materials to maximize student time on tasks as well as motivate student learning.
- Utilize varied instructional practices to better meet student needs. This could include but is not limited to ukulele, recorder, and guitar instruction for older students. Teach appreciation of harmony and choral skills to older students.
- To participate in a culture of faith and friendship centered on the love of Christ and the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.
- To partner with parents in providing a nurturing Catholic environment focused on academic excellence.
- To foster growth of student disciples who know, love and serve our Lord, Jesus Christ.
- To foster joyful order in the classroom and school.
- Help inspire in students a sense of wonder and a love of learning.
- To form students and call them to virtuous living.
- To work with school leadership in professional development with the goal of improving in the craft of teaching.
