Duties:
- The Candidate shall provide DMA services at the chapel located on NAS CORPUS CHRISTI, TX
- Musical direction for Protestant Worship services.
- Accompaniment for the rendition of music required during worship services. This will include: prelude music, calls to worship, congregational singing, offertories, postludes, and other music as required by the respective chaplain or CRMP. The Government will provide music compositions. Additional music presented by the Candidate will be based on compositions appropriate to the faith groups attending worship services.
- Coordinate and consult with the officiating chaplain or CRMP concerning the selection of all choral selections, choruses, hymns, and other music utilized in the worship service.
- Submit to CRP religious program information for worship service programs/bulletins.
- Piano accompaniment for Wednesday Protestant Services - 52 Services - each service approximately 1-hour duration
- Piano accompaniment for Special Services - approximately 30 Services (Christmas, Easter, New Years, eight Holy Days of Obligation, Weddings, Memorials, and other Military Services)- each service approximately 1-hour duration.
- Rehearsal - approximately 1 hour, typically day before service on Tuesday.
Qualifications:
- Shall be a musician with the requisite skills and experience acceptable to lead a variety of religious worship services..
- Have the ability to sight read music, play contemporary protestant worship/praise music on a piano, and direct. other musicians and vocalists in four-part musical scores.
- Provide leadership, direction, and administration for the Catholic and Protestant musical program.
Education/Certification:
- The candidate must have an Associate's degree in Music or a related field and two years specialized experience in (or a combination of) planning, directing, teaching, leading, and supporting a religious musical program in a church environment; this degree must be from an accredited college or university
- 3 Years Experience.
