We are looking for an Audiobooks Programmer to drive engagement with our audio streaming service in US, UK, CA through audiobooks content programming. The programmer will be part of the Global Spoken Word (audiobooks and podcasts) team and will be responsible for our audiobooks programming strategy and curation including setting quarterly and monthly audiobook content themes that all content marketing teams will focus on to drive growth and engagement, in addition to curating the in-app audiobook experience. This person will work closely with audiobooks content strategy, marketing, industry relations, and product teams on customer and partner-facing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be an avid consumer of book content and be passionate about helping customers find their next best audiobook listen. They will be creative and analytical, and adept at synthesizing learnings from customer engagement into a clear programming strategy. They have exceptional experience in programming and curation and expertise in book content, genres, titles and authors. They are able to collaborate across audiobooks content marketing, product marketing and have the ability to work independently under time constraints to deliver results. They have an entrepreneurial spirit, a creative mindset for pushing boundaries, and are comfortable with executing initiatives and experiments and possessing the ability to work effectively with a large number of stakeholders. They will need to communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Use data, research, and expert-level knowledge of wide-ranging genres, titles and authors to create and refine curated content
  2. Gather, analyze, report, and act on customer engagement and content usage data
  3. Research the needs of specific customer segments and apply findings to craft tailored content for those audiences
  4. Support external partner efforts through analyzing ongoing partner content priorities and connecting to an editorial focus
  5. Devise and pitch ideas for curatorial efforts
  6. Contribute to cross-functional marketing efforts focused on audiobook content
  7. Provide inputs on tooling improvements and the publishing process

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-years work experience in spoken word programming, editorial, or a related role.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of spoken word categories.
  • Books, Audiobooks or Publishing Industry knowledge.

Compensation: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $69,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $148,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
