Position Overview
On an on-call basis, make desired individual contribution to station’s team efforts by performing as an on-air host that attracts targeted audience and builds ratings in line with desired Talk format.
Note:Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.
This position is anonsiterole that requires the employee to regularly work at our Phoenix site.
What You Will Do:
Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:
Host talk show that is relevant to target audience and generates ratings.Conduct topical interviews that are compelling, informative, and interesting and adhere to station’s format philosophy.
Timely and effectively complete commercial and promotional production assignments.
Monitor news on a daily basis.
Reflect company values and maintain desired station image to listeners while on-air and during personal appearances.
Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:
Minimum of 5 years experience working in a newsroom environment. Minimum of 2 years talk show experience preferred.
News judgement.
Passion for news and current affairs.
Experience in radio hosting.
Aggressive attitude with a strong desire to advance in the broadcasting media.
Ability to use humor.
Spends time researching topics.
Ability to be respected by newsmakers during interviews.
Strong desire to work at the state’s largest and most respected radio station.
Multi-tasking pro. Ability to be organized with the capability to concentrate on more than one event at a time, able to follow written and verbal instructions under moderate supervision.
Proven ability to work under pressure to meet daily/weekly deadlines.
Willing to be active in the community.
Self-starter with the ability to assure accuracy in on-air product. Errors may incur financial time loss.
Monitor news on a daily basis.
Computer skills.
Physical Demands
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Compensation Range
$50.00 – $60.00 per hour
Hourly rate will be determined by an evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal and external benchmarks.
