Marketing and Communications - Student Photographer

Bradley University is seeking a dynamic visual storyteller for the role of Photographer for the Office of Marketing and Communications. This position is responsible for capturing and editing photos for platforms including social media, the university website, paid media, digital marketing campaigns, events and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capturing images: Take high-quality photos that meet client specifications
  • Preparing for shoots: Set up lighting, backdrops, and equipment
  • Directing subjects: Lead models and subjects to get the desired shot
  • Editing photos: Use photo-editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom to enhance images, correct lighting, and remove blemishes
  • Maintaining equipment: Keep cameras, computers, and tripods in good working order
  • Managing images: Archive and organize photos, and maintain a digital portfolio
  • Collaboration: Engage with subjects in a friendly manner
  • Meeting project needs: Discuss project requirements with colleagues in OMC
  • Scheduling: Plan the logistics of people, equipment, and locations; this will require some evenings and weekends to capture exciting events on campus.
  • Delivering photos: Provide final images to OMC in a timely manner

Qualifications:
  • Must have working knowledge of cameras, lenses, and lighting systems.
  • Have a great attitude and be enthusiastic about capturing student activities on campus
  • On-location and studio photography skills including maintenance of studio equipment
  • Utilize Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom for image editing
  • Perform the planning, production, and post-production of photo shoots.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, organize and archive image content.
  • Effective time management skills, detail-oriented and a strong problem solver.
  • Approachable, professional and service-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within teams.

The department would like to hire someone to start during the fall 2024 semester and then return for the spring 2025 semester.
