Job purpose: Cover local news for NBC4/T44 and participate in the newsgathering and editorial process.
Job Duties
+ Minimum 2 years experience operating camera, transmission, sound, lighting and editing equipment to cover live and taped events
+ Minimum 2 years experience utilizing new and emerging technologies to develop content for NBC4 platforms
+ Respond quickly to breaking news while taking direction and interacting with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room, and appropriate NBC personnel
+ Interact with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room and acquisition personnel
+ Work with others efficiently under daily deadline pressure
+ Solve technical issues in the field
Basic Qualifications
+ Minimum 2 years newsgathering experience
+ Minimum 2 years of experience in combination of shooting live events, editing on nonlinear systems and operating ENG live/microwave truck
+ Minimum 2 years Ability to operate bonded cell live units
+ Minimum 2 years Ability to operate a live truck

+ Must be willing to work in Washington, D.C.
+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
+ Must be 18 years or greater
+ Must be available on overnights, evenings, weekends and holidays
+ Must have valid driver's license with no restrictions
Desired Qualifications
+ Excellent storytelling and editorial skills
+ Ability to work under extreme deadlines
+ Ability to simultaneously shoot, edit and operate an ENG truck
+ Satellite truck operation
+ Portable microwave gear experience
+ Knowledge and ability to operate communication tools and stay connected with the assignment constituencies (i.e. use of email software, cell phone, messaging tools, etc)
+ Must be proficient working with Adobe Premiere Pro, and newer systems
+ Must be Proficient in the Panasonic P2 workflow
+ Must have strong understanding of computer/IT workflows
+ Must understand File Transfer Protocols
+ Proficient in HD lighting, HD videography, microwave truck operations
+ Familiarity with new technologies such as bonded cell transmission, Go Pro cameras and file sharing applications
+ Working knowledge of digital journalism production techniques and technology and experience sending content to digital properties
+ Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal a plus
