The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:


+ Providing technical leadership, direction, and support for the overhead distribution design team on projects ranging from 2.4kV to 34.5kV overhead and underground utility distribution projects.


+ Mentoring, coaching, and developing team members


+ Serving as the primary technical point of contact for the client


+ Implementation of quality control processes


+ Supporting proposal development


+ Leading coordination and communication of project requirements & schedule needs across disciplines


+ Identification and communication of technical risks associated with projects


+ Oversight of production work required to meet deliverable milestones


+ Identifying, developing, and communicating processes and tools to increase efficiency across team and department


+ Creating, improving, facilitating and teaching training courses to the project team and department


+ Other duties as assigned.


**Qualifications** The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to project teams.


+ Bachelor's degree in engineering from accredited program.


+ 3 years related distribution line design experience (completion of master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience).


+ Successful completion (i.e. passing) FE or EIT highly preferred


+ Professional engineering license (PE) highly Preferred


+ Knowledge of overhead and underground construction methods and distribution system equipment.


+ Experience conducting distribution field inspections.


+ Understanding of distribution power flow.


+ Experience with various distribution design tools, as well as CADD and GIS to aid in design.


+ Familiarity with topographic mapping & surveying, and subsurface utility engineering/utility locating procedures and practices.


+ Knowledge regarding easements, right-of-way, and permitting.


+ Ability to effectively lead project teams.


+ Excellent written & verbal communication skills.


+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


+ Experience in scheduling and budgeting.


+ This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.


+ Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE a plus.


+ Consulting or utility experience preferred.
