Senior PR and Communications Manager - Role ResponsibilitiesPensionBee US is seeking an experienced, well-connected Senior PR and Communications Manager to build our media presence and drive brand awareness in the retirement and fintech sectors. This person will play a key role in shaping PensionBee’s communications strategy, positioning the company as a thought leader in personal finance and retirement planning as well as an authority in the space.
As part of the founding US team, this role is particularly suited to someone eager to help build a direct-to-consumer brand from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Media Relations: Leverage your strong relationships with media professionals in personal finance, retirement, and wealth management to proactively pitch stories to generate impactful coverage and manage inbound media inquiries.
- Senior Leadership Visibility: Using your contacts in the space, book high-profile media appearances and publishing opportunities for senior leadership, securing placements in influential publications and on key platforms. Develop and maintain opportunities for executives to speak at conferences and participate in panel discussions.
- Content Development: Craft compelling press releases, thought leadership pieces, and op-eds that promote PensionBee’s mission, products, and insights - and get them seen. Align messaging to build authority in the fintech and retirement sectors.
- Strategic Communications: Develop and execute a robust PR and communications plan, enhancing brand recognition and engagement among target audiences.
- Industry Events: Identify, coordinate, and execute PensionBee’s participation in relevant events, including securing speaking slots, sponsorships, and panel engagements.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Track media coverage, industry trends, and campaign impact. Provide regular performance updates and recommendations to optimize communications efforts.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Professional Experience: 5+ years of public relations or communications experience in personal finance, fintech, retirement planning, or wealth management. Proven ability to secure meaningful media coverage and speaking engagements in the personal finance and fintech spaces.
- Industry Connections: A robust network of media contacts in personal finance, retirement, and wealth planning, as well as an ability to foster new relationships.
- Strategic Mindset: Skilled in developing and executing impactful communications strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Content Expertise: Exceptional writing and editing skills, with experience crafting press releases, thought leadership articles, and executive commentary.
- Event Management: Familiarity with planning and executing industry event participation, including logistics, speaking engagements, and sponsorships.
- Collaborative Approach: Confident working across teams and with senior leadership to shape communications goals and strategies.
