Sr. Manager, PR & Communications

The Sage Group’s client, whose mission is to enable a better financial future for small business owners through innovative banking solutions designed just for them, is seeking an experienced communications leader, who will work closely with the executive team to create and amplify narratives that reinforce the company’s mission, legacy, and strategy. You’ll be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for external communications to raise awareness about what we're doing, how we’re differentiated, and the high-value impact we’re delivering to our customers and other key stakeholders.
Leveraging strong media relationships, you’ll deliver impactful storytelling across broadcast, print, and online outlets along with awards and speakers bureau programs. You will also have the latitude to chart new territory for multi-channel campaigns across earned, owned, and shared media.
While driving day-to-day efforts related to thought leadership, media relations, rapid response, crisis and issues management, you’ll also find creative ways to enhance and protect our positive reputation in the market by generating innovative and impactful customer stories and partnering with our executives to raise the profile of our company and category.
You will also work closely with the CEO to proactively manage and advance his media presence – building a list of “media friendlies” that will use him regularly as a resource for commentary and insight on news and trends.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively source compelling story angles from a deep list of customers as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Develop high-quality written materials that convey the company’s corporate narrative including messaging frameworks, press releases, media Q&As, bylines, award entries, and more.
  • Partner with marketing teammates to ensure consistent storytelling and strategic alignment around paid, earned, owned, and shared content and programs.
  • Collaborate with the People Team on key internal communications initiatives.

  • Develop strategies to ensure the company is strategically positioned with analysts, investors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage the PR agency of record which includes day-to-day management, annual planning, ensuring delivery of strategic initiatives, managing budgets, and measuring quarterly performance.

Requirements:
  • 10+ years leading public relations or broader communications initiatives. Ideally, you will have experience across fintech, banking, and financial services.
  • Strong project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects with a sense of urgency and focus.
  • Extensive experience in developing effective positioning and differentiated storytelling.
  • Highly strategic with a track record of helping companies navigate corporate issues.
  • Experience with key business, technology, and financial services reporters, editors, and producers.
