As a member of the Marketing Team, the Snow Reporter will cultivate, generate, and distribute daily content for Sunday Rivers snow report, social media, and other communication channels for internal and external audiences. In addition to daily snow reporting responsibilities, the Snow Reporter works closely with the entire marketing team and supports daily needs, including social media and website updates. This position will require working weekends and holiday periods. As a member of the Marketing Department with a focus on Communications, the Snow Reporter reports to the Communications Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Daily collection of snow condition information.
- Produce and distribute the online snow report twice daily and more frequently during weather events.
- Update website and various internet channels with conditions information.
- Update website and various internet channels with accurate information regarding all profit centers.
- Generate and distribute morning social stories on Instagram.
- Generate/contribute to weekly briefing document for internal team.
- Attend snow plan meeting daily.
- Daily competitive snow analysis (and lift ticket pricing, deals, etc.).
- Oversee social medias organic content up to twice weekly.
- Contribute to Sunday Rivers blog.
- Supports marketing and other?departments?as needed.
Work Environment
- Full-time seasonal hourly position reporting to the Communications Manager.
- Typical hours are 7AM-3PM on weekdays, and 6AM-2PM on weekends and holidays.
- The standard schedule is 5 days a week, with the occasional 6th day.
- Weekends and holidays are required.
- Longer hours may be required when facing deadlines or during need periods.
- Spends time in a climate-controlled office and on the slopes.
- Up to 8 hours per week may be spent in other departments during peak demand periods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field preferred, others accepted.
- Superior writing skills.
- Advanced or higher ski/snowboard ability required.
- Content creation experience in photo and experience working in the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, etc.) is a bonus
- Graphic Design experience utilizing the Adobe Suite and/or Canva is a bonus
