Job Description
The Investing Club is CNBC's successful digital subscription product launched in 2022 with Jim Cramer. The Investing Club - which includes Jim and a team of analysts, reporters, and editors - reports and writes about stocks, investing, and the markets through the lens of educating investors and helping them build long-term wealth.
CNBC is looking for a passionate business journalist - or a financial analyst with strong writing and analytical skills - to join this fast-growing and profitable business within the global leader in business news. Our ideal candidate has great news judgment, reporting chops, and the ability to explain complicated subjects in plain English for regular investors. You are also a good communicator who can collaborate with Jim and the editorial team to create the smartest content for our paying members. In addition, you have a competitive drive and love the entrepreneurial challenge of helping to build the Investing Club as it embarks on a major expansion in 2025.
What you'll do:
* Pitch, report and write stories on stocks and investing that will help our members become better investors.
* Conduct research for and contribute to broader projects.
* Produce articles for Investing Club and CNBC.
* Coordinate visuals for digital stories, including charts and data visualizations.
* Support planning of future coverage on a rolling basis and help maintain an editorial calendar of events and features.
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
* Candidate should have three to five years of experience as a business or financial reporter, or as an analyst.
* Candidate should have experience covering stocks, investing, the markets, and business news.
* Candidate should be comfortable writing and reporting on deadlines, writing both quick-turn stories and longer-term features.
* Candidate should be skilled at developing sources in the analyst and investing community, along with company sources, to help find and analyze information to produce new stories and angles.
* Be a team player, interested in working with Jim Cramer and the IC team, along with CNBC colleagues in digital, social, events, and other departments to help build the Investing Club.
* Ideally proficient with spreadsheets, data interpretation, and data visualization to accompany and generate stories.

* Clips of smartly reported and well-written stories on business or financial news.
* Fresh ideas about how to better package our coverage and how to engage new audiences.
* An understanding of how subscription businesses work and how the content creation process drives that business.
