Job Description
Adams Publishing Group is looking for a sports reporter for the Eau Claire WI location. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable writing an enterprise piece on booster club finances, a gamer or a feature on a top prep athlete.
Responsibilities and Duties
Work collaboratively with other sports reporters and editors. Write features, previews, game stories and analysis for area sports and recreational teams.
Contribute to the newsrooms' efforts to effectively cover and inform the community.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful applicant will have;
Insatiable curiosity about all kinds of sports and recreation (not just prep athletics.)
An excellent grasp of interviewing and writing techniques and a demonstrated knowledge of how multimedia enhances reporting.
Demonstrated leadership skills and a team player mentality
Four-year post-secondary degree in a related field or comparable practical experience in a work environment.
Experience using social media
Technical competence with Word and Web-based content management.
Video skills are a significant plus, as is fluency in speaking Spanish.
Reporters who thrive on writing only gamers need not apply.
