Assistant Director of Studio Safety and Services
The Cleveland Institute of Art invites applicants for the full-time role of Assistant Director of Studio Safety and Services. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs; this role serves as a vital member of the studio operations team, supervising the Academic Affairs Operations Manager and designated studio technicians. As the Assistant Director of Studio Safety & Services, you'll guide a team of professionals dedicated to ensuring the safe practices of our college's state-of-the-art fabrication spaces and studios. You'll be at the forefront of supporting academic functions related to Environmental Health and Safety -empowering our faculty and students to thrive in a safe and innovative environment.
This role leads the Studio Operations team in improving the safety and capabilities of all academic shop/studio spaces across campus to include developing safety protocols for training staff and faculty as well as educating students, developing and maintaining environmental health and safety programs, and implementing best practices as related to the academic studios.
The candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree in a relative field, and/or 3-5 years of professional experience in an art and design role. Proven experience managing people and leading teams. The candidate must possess a positive attitude, excellent written and verbal skills, strong organizational and management skills, demonstrated strong ability to manage health and safety initiatives across studio operations. With exceptional organizational and project management skills, this role will lead efforts to ensure compliance with safety protocols and proactively address any safety concerns. Knowledge of fume and particulate ventilation systems such as dust collection and fume extraction. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Suite, and Adobe CC.

Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. CIA offers a benefit package including; paid time off bank, as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break. CIA offers health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, free campus parking, and inter-museum council discounts.
