First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale, Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States, 33336
First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale (PCUSA) creates spaces of Christ-centered connection and inspires people of all ages to explore faith in open and honest ways, cultivating possibilities for growth and transformation. We are currently prayerfully seeking our next Tech Director who will innovate our use of technology through worship.
The church possesses a rich diversity of thought and perspective. First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale, the second largest church in the Presbytery of Tropical Florida, has a rich history of partnership with the Fort Lauderdale community. Many of the original civic leaders who incorporated the city in 1911 were also involved in the founding of the church in 1912. From its origin to present-day, the church has been shaped by this founding DNA, pursuing a desire, through God’s grace, to make Fort Lauderdale a great place to live. The church has been described as “pioneers in the community,” “cooperative,” “impossible dreamers,” “involved,” “visionary,” “welcoming,” and “enthusiastic.” As Fort Lauderdale experiences a surge in growth, the church was described by one person as a “sleeping giant,” with fabulous human, financial, and physical resources to expand its reach to Fort Lauderdale with Christ’s love.
The new Tech Director would be in charge of the AV Department and oversee corresponding staff and volunteers. The ministry serves all expressions of worship (traditional and contemporary), funerals, weddings, Happyland Day School and the AV needs of all church ministries. There is an opportunity to utilize AV to elevate the message of the Gospel and cultivate a volunteer team that is utilizing their time and talents to serve the community. The church is committed to excellence and possesses the resources to provide the necessary equipment. This position would have the opportunity to craft systems and workflows to serve these purposes and work with the pastoral team in order to meet the church's goals.
The ideal candidate will have a flourishing relationship with Jesus, love to release others into ministry opportunities, possess a growth mindset and always be looking to learn, be able to thrive in an environment that has a diversity of thought and perspective, and possess at least 5 years of experience within technical ministry or live production settings.
If you believe God might be calling you to consider this amazing opportunity, please send a cover letter and resume to [email address]. Be sure to include any relevant links that would provide context to your experience (e.g., worship services or other productions you have produced).
