Job Title: Maritime Technical Director

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Salary: $175K-$200K + 25% bonus

About the Company / Opportunity:

A growing maritime solutions provider in Florida seeks a Maritime Technical Director to oversee fleet technical operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise Technical Superintendents
2. Oversee maintenance, dry-docking, and major repairs
3. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
4. Manage technical budgets and control costs
5. Lead preventive maintenance to reduce downtime
6. Collaborate with port engineers and senior management
7. Implement vessel safety, quality, and environmental goals
8. Conduct vessel inspections and foster crew relations

Must-Have Skills:

1. Bachelor's in Marine Engineering or equivalent
2. 5+ years of maritime engineering management experience
3. Operations background
4. Experience on tankers
5. Strong leadership and budget management skills
6. Experience with Class-audited safety management systems
7. Ability to collaborate with customers for safe, reliable operations
8. Strong multitasking and stakeholder management skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:

1. Chief Engineer’s License
2. Familiarity with ABS NS5, AutoCAD
