UI/UX Designer, Mid
INNOVIM is seeking a UI/UX Designer, Mid to support The National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), which provides timely access to global environmental data from satellites and other sources to promote, protect, and enhance the Nation’s economy, security, environment, and quality of life.
Through the Web, we convey and amplify our core mission stories, letting the public, stakeholders, and partners know how we are working for them to provide information and resources to understand and predict changes in climate, weather, oceans, and coasts. It is our obligation to use our websites and social media channels to present timely information and data to the public.
This position is contingent on contract award.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in digital visual design, including graphic and web design.
- Experience in data strategy, CX strategy, data science, and related fields.
- Experience with responsive design, industry best practices, human-centered design practices, 508 compliance, and WCAG 2.1 (AA) standards.
- Familiarity with visual design software and programs.
- Experience working in a team environment as well as independently.
- Experience with Federal Design standards, including the IDEA act and CX modernization.
- Experience in working with omnichannel digital experiences.
- Experience working in Drupal and Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with creating views and templates in full-stack frameworks.
- Ability to transition ideas and thoughts into dynamic visual representations.
- Quality assurance experience, including both automated and manual testing.
This position is located in Silver Springs, MD.
