Job Description:
- Lead multiple aligned research teams to support adjacent products
- Independently and autonomously drives the development of new research studies based on understanding business strategy and knowledge gaps
- Drive product discovery planning, with design and product partners; inform future direction, including next generation vision, OKRs, roadmaps
- Structure, plan, and staff significantly complex research initiatives
- Design, administer, and report on these research studies, and produce associated materials (e.g. research agendas, discussion guides, generative exercises etc.).
- Contribute to strategic design deliverables such as strategy decks, customer journeys, visions of future experiences and evangelize these cross-product "blueprints" across teams
- Senior researchers in the shaping of their studies and findings to realize greater impact
- Lead cross-functional Design Thinking exercises using research findings as a starting point
- Identify UX metrics worth tracking
- Prepare and teach introductory training material on experience research, primarily for other user experience practitioners
- Maintain and uphold research practice and output standards across a Line of Business
- Support recruiting processes, reaching out to potential candidates, taking part in interviews
- Expert User Research skills across all forms of research (evaluative, generative, formative)
- Continued development in adjacent skills such as UX Writing, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design
- Advanced project planning and management skills
- Ability to lead a complex research study
- Prior work involves collaboration within design teams (with other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and cross-functionally (Product Management, Engineering)
- Comfortable and confident when presenting work
- UX Research tools for diary studies, remote research, and usability testing
