Luxoft is hiring: UX Designer in New York

Luxoft, New York, NY, United States, 10261

Job Description

Project Description:

Are you driven by innovation? Creative? Passionate about design? And maybe embody that special something that helps to continue to build our culture? Well, you've come to the right place.

We follow a simple but vital premise: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Our Product Designers take complex tasks and make them intuitive and easy-to-use for every client that approaches us with possibilities just waiting to be solved. Throughout the design process—from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes—you'll re-envision the art of the possible and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined, and even magical.

We care deeply about the people who create designs as much as the users who interact with them. We collaborate closely with each other and across teams to create industry-leading experiences that deliver value for our B2B/B2C business partners, resulting in lasting relationships.

Our client is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help them update their legacy Data Portal into something more bespoke and modern. This Data Portal manages all the metadata for their systems and it’s not as curated or simplified as it needs to be. The ideal candidate for this role is a unique individual that is comfortable both navigating and owning different responsibilities within the Product Design process from ideation to concept to delivery. This person would be critical to aligning how the client’s different Departments can be curated to become a more intuitive and motivational experience vs what exists today while acting as a subject matter expert when it comes to data visualization and design.

For New York City compensation is up to 140000 USD Gross per year.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with other teams and peers to solve complex user problems.

• Help refine the existing requirements into stories and deliveries that meet the goals of the engagement with the collaboration of the product owners and users.

• Conduct user research and testing methods to help define and refine the new product while aiming towards an MVP.

• Help generate feature flows, site maps, flow diagrams, and other UX deliverables.

• Create artifacts, prototypes, and specs that enable developers to implement features efficiently. i.e., redlining, design language systems, documentation, visual QA, etc.

• Interpret & align with key stakeholders on the Design System currently in use and identify areas of improvement & accessibility opportunities.

• Present your designs to senior management for feedback and approval in the form of low & high fidelity screens within rapid/visual prototypes.

• Provide patterns, best practices, and guidance on interaction/visual design for different devices

• Gauge the usability, trustworthiness, and delightfulness for each experience

Mandatory Skills Description:

• Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc.) or equivalent practical experience. (7-10yrs recommended)

• Must have experience with design systems that work across a product as both a visual kit and developed code. i.e., documentation, governance, implementation, etc.

• Must have a portfolio showing related experience designing web and/or mobile applications/products.

• Must have a portfolio showing data visualization design samples; specifically, dataviz platforms and dashboards. (ex. PowerBI, Tableau, customized platforms, etc)

• Must have experience working with a consultancy or agency

• Must be in the Toronto/New York/NYC Metropolitan Area (Hybrid; in-office 3x days a week)

• Must be able to work for an internal government-entity; a background check is required.

• Mastery/High Proficiency in Figma (Prototyping is required for this role).

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

• Experience in designing usable, web-based interfaces for complex internal systems.

• Experience conducting user research & testing

• Understanding of design systems from a development POV

• Experience working in Capital Markets, especially back-office systems

• Design & Strategy focused workshopping experience (ex: Crazy 8's, requirement gathering sessions, ideation, etc)
