JOB TITLE: Video Producer

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Communications

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

PAY GRADE: AM 3

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Video Producer will work closely with the Director of Communications to produce high-

quality videos that strengthen the district's brand, public relations, and communication strategies.

This role requires expertise in compelling storytelling at every stage of video production-from planning and scripting to filming and editing-ensuring the content aligns with district goals.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical video skills, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Film, Multimedia Production, or related field from an accredited college or university

Three years of experience in video production, editing, and digital media creation

Portfolio showcasing professional video production work

Preferred:

Experience in school district communications, media outlets or marketing video

production

Familiarity with current video/drone technologies, digital platforms, and media trends

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop,

and Audition

Strong understanding of video editing, lighting, and audio production

Ability to operate professional video cameras, drones, and other multimedia equipment

Knowledge of color correction, motion graphics, and visual storytelling techniques

Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

Familiarity with social media trends and video formats (reels) for platforms like

Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube

Knowledge of studio and lighting layout and ability to set up a working studio at different locations

Excellent written and oral communications skills

Available for evening/weekend assignments

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Produce, direct, and edit video content, ensuring high-quality standards for lighting,

audio, and post-production

Plan, schedule, and conduct interviews with various stakeholders, ensuring to gather

relevant content that aligns with project goals

Write, and refine scripts for promotional, informational, and event-based videos that align with the district's messaging and goals.

Set up and manage studio or on-location shoots, including lighting and sound equipment for various district-related projects

Collaborate with the Communications team to develop ideas for promotional and informational videos that highlight district programs, activities, and achievements

Manage the district's video archive and ensure timely uploads to the website and social media platforms

Lead the production of video podcasts, livestream events, and other multimedia projects, applying innovative storytelling techniques

Assist in creating social media content, working closely with the team to ensure alignment with the district's overall digital strategy

Stay up-to-date on video production trends and recommend new tools or approaches to enhance the district's digital presence

Assist with photography assignments

Perform other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, prolonged use of computer, some lifting,carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 25lbs. This position will also require prolonged and irregular hours (some weekend work) and the ability to work independently. Mental demands: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; ability to interpret a variety of data; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory, ability to be effective in both oral and written communication; ability to maintain emotional control under stress and work with frequent interruptions. Frequent district travel required.
