Cheshire Academy seeks a full-time Visual Arts teacher for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year.
The successful candidate will be able to provide quality instruction in drawing, painting, ceramics, and other visual arts. Specifically, we seek a candidate who is capable of taking on the IB Visual Arts curriculum, so prior experience with the IB will distinguish candidates. The ability to work with a diverse student population with a wide range of interest and ability in the arts is important. Candidates who have a dynamic presence in the classroom, an innovative and open approach to curriculum design, a collaborative approach to teaching, and who incorporate new technologies are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must embrace participation in the entire boarding school experience.

For a candidate with the right expertise, this could include oversight of our signature Art Major program, which includes portfolio development and college placement assistance for our most skilled student-artists.

Requirements
Minimally, this candidate will have a BA or BFA in a relevant field. A Master's degree, teaching credentials, and/or relevant teaching experience are preferred.

Other responsibilities include:
- Advising;
- Contribute four points to the co-curricular program*;
- Weekend team responsibilities;
- Residential/dormitory duties (if housing is provided);
- Must have a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CT "A" endorsement for purposes of transporting students.
