CNC Machining Visual Inspector Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Machining Visual Inspector to join our quality control team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting machined parts for dimensional accuracy and surface finish, with a strong emphasis on identifying and minimizing burrs. This role is critical in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and specifications.


This position is full-time, onsite and is located in Agawam, MA.

Requirements:
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections of machined parts to identify defects, focusing on burrs and surface imperfections.
  • Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances of machined components.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, including findings related to burrs and other defects, and communicate results to relevant departments.
  • Collaborate with CNC machinists and production teams to discuss findings and implement corrective actions to reduce burr formation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects and enhancing production processes.
  • Assist in training CNC operators on best practices for minimizing burrs during machining processes.
  • Ensure all inspections are conducted in accordance with company quality standards and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in machining or quality control preferred.
  • Proven experience in visual inspection, preferably in a CNC machining environment.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and materials.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards and inspection techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle defects.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report findings.

Skills:

  • Proficiency with measurement tools and inspection equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • May require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials.
  • Work in a machine shop environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
