The (Very Important) Fine Print
  • Qualifications/Certification.
    • All teachers must hold a Bachelor's degree upon employment.
    • Teachers in our schools must meet certification requirements by employment commencement. This can be achieved in a few ways:
      • Possession of a valid Tennessee teaching license with the required content endorsements.
      • Holding a valid teaching license transferable from another state with reciprocity to TN.
      • Enrollment in a state-accredited Alternative Certification Program by the first day of employment and having successfully passed the content related praxis exam within the last 5 years.
  • Prior Experience.
    • Highly preferred: Previous experience teaching Visual Arts, working in low-income communities, and a demonstrated ability to elevate the academic performance of underserved scholars.
    • Essential: A strong commitment to addressing historical inequities based on race and class in the American South.
  • Placement. Middle School Visual Arts Teachers will lead Visual Arts classes at Liberty Collegiate Academy.
  • Compensation.
