What You'll Do

As a Senior Web Developer on the Digital Solutions team in Tufts Technology Services, you will develop and enhance responsive and accessible digital applications from design and UX specifications using Drupal and other contemporary technologies. You will perform extensions to custom application profiles, including data integrations that deliver new functionality to enable core business objectives; and engage in custom Drupal module and theme development. You are a passionate technologist steeped in contemporary coding languages, frameworks, and practices who seeks continuous learning and opportunities for rapid prototyping, and who excels in an environment based in agile software methodologies you. A skilled collaborator, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, cross-functional team with other developers, UX designers, and content strategists to deliver high impact digital solutions that support teaching, learning, research, and digital marketing. You have excellent communication skills, are self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, and are not afraid to ask for help or to offer it. This position has a work designation of remote.
  • Develop and enhance responsive and accessible digital applications from design and UX specifications using Drupal and related web technologies, contributing to all aspects of front and back end development, including deploying and managing sites in host-provided environments (Acquia, Pantheon)
  • Investigate new software, development technologies, and approaches that enhance development capacity, innovation, and maintainability of software systems
  • Collaborate closely with UX, content strategy, product delivery, and non-technical program management teams.
  • Engages in iterative prototyping and feedback cycles in a cross-functional team environment to explore new value creation and meet emerging business needs.
  • Participate in agile development ceremonies including daily stand-up meetings and sprint retrospectives.
  • Communication:
    • Participates actively in Tufts Technology Services staff events and meetings, including regular meetings with project teams for each application or service.
    • Proactively tracks own work, communicating with colleagues, clients, and supervisor to enable steady progress toward goals, re-prioritizing in dialogue with supervisor as needed.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance:
    • Devises testing methodologies for validation of functionality and performance and assists with quality assurance and testing of applications and services developed.
What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:
  • Skills and knowledge typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 6+ years' relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical solutions with Drupal and other contemporary technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced technology environment
  • Solid experience with all aspects of the software development cycle from analysis through evaluation and documentation.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to brainstorm creative solutions to problems
  • Experience collaborating with a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing for the WordPress platform
  • Experience working in Agile environment.
  • Experience with SnapLogic Integration Platform as a Service toolset
  • Experience working with either or both Acquia and Pantheon hosting service
Schedule:
  • The majority of the work for this position is performed during normal business hours Monday through Friday. However, there may be an occasional need to work during evening hours as required.
  • This position has a work designation of remote.
Pay Range

Minimum $94,600.00, Midpoint $118,250.00, Maximum $141,900.00

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
