POSITION SUMMARY
The Web Development Specialist is an on-site role that monitors and tracks the analysis of EVPL's website and mobile app,
manages the web and app content, and researches and participates in the development and
implementation of web-related campaigns. The Web Development Specialist researches and guides the
EVPL user experience on the website and mobile app.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In cooperation with the Communications Team, the Information Technology Team, and other colleagues, the Web Development Specialist will advance the library's mission, vision, strategic priorities, and brand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In cooperation with the Communications Team, the Information Technology Team, and other colleagues, the Web Development Specialist will advance the library's mission, vision, strategic priorities, and brand.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Participate in staff planning and training.
- Provide oversight of EVPL website and apps, including content and site design.
- Optimize website and apps to enhance user experience.
- Make data-driven decisions for website and apps through capturing and analyzing web metrics, traffic, and user behaviors.
- Monitor and improve search engine optimization.
- Collaboratively work with colleagues to create content and updates for web pages and apps.
- Work with colleagues to create forms in Google Workspace for the web page.
- Collaboratively work with colleagues to create engaging, integrated content and related campaigns utilizing social media, video, written content, email marketing, and digital/traditional/print advertising.
- Collaboratively work with colleagues to maintain design guidelines, brand standards, and best practices.
- Assist with the planning, development, and administering of departmental and project budgets and contracts according to approved methods; recommend cost-saving measures.
- Complete web/app related reports for internal and external audiences, including EVPL Board of Trustees.
- Work with external partners, vendors, and organizations as needed on special projects.
- Collaborate with and/or present original ideas to the Communications team to further the promotion and communication of library services, resources, and/or programs.
- Participate in special projects or other duties as assigned.
Basic:
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, media, communications, digital marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in web development, design and content management.
- 2+ years of experience in Wordpress or other content management system (CMS).
- 2+ years of experience with relevant computer languages including but not limited to HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript.
- 1+ years of web application programming.
- Proficient with Adobe design software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as Google Suite products.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
- 1+ years' previous experience in a public library setting.
- 1+ years' experience integrating external applications into websites.
- 1+ years' experience cultivating user experience on websites or mobile apps.
- 1+ years' experience in Project Management.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- A continuous learner with a welcoming attitude, a collaborative work ethic, and a desire to go above and beyond to serve our diverse community.
