Pueo is interested in bringing aboard a TS/SCI cleared Technical Writer to join our team in Washington, DC. The Technical Writer will create and revise RMF technical documents such as procedure, articles and user and reference manuals. The RMF Technical Writer is responsible for taking information that is generally only understood by professionals in the RMF group and making it more understandable to the client. Technical. They facilitate communication between two or more parties by breaking down complex terminologies. Technical Writers create and distribute materials and guides that can be easily digested by the client without losing the correct meaning.

Responsibilities:
  • Expected to be familiar with best practices for material organization and layout, editorial standards, and publication methods.
  • RMF Technical Writer writes and edits RMF procedure documentation,
  • Writes and edits technical documents including reference manuals,
  • Writes and edits procedural documentation such as user guides and manuals,
  • Meets with engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific products or processes,
  • Researches RMF practices to fully understand processes,
  • Assesses the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural, Documentation is intended,
  • Adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding,
  • Plans writing processes and tasks and sets timelines and deadlines,
  • Creates diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process,
  • Gathers feedback from customers, and technical teams to improve technical documents,
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelors Degree in English, journalism, or literature.
  • Five years of experience or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience in IT technical writing and editing.
  • Three years of related experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Excellent writing and grammatical skills,
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail,
  • Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text,
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently,
  • Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues,
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
