The Medical Writer is responsible for creation and oversight of scientific documents in an effective manner, in collaboration with or under the guidance of a Medical Editor. Additional opportunities include original content development, faculty and client support and communications, and collaborating with other content developers. Medical Writer is also responsible for partnering with Associate Medical Directors/Medical Directors to complete editorial projects ensuring their quality, scientific and medical accuracy and integrity. Write content for advertisements, speaker presentations, educational and promotional videos, professional web sites Critically review content developed by others in the agency, including copywriters, medical writers, and AMDs Ensure copy provided by writers is scientifically accurate, fully supported, correctly cited, and sufficiently annotated Ensure teams are optimizing the use of data to tell a viable, differentiating story Review copy written by other writers for accuracy and quality of citations Clearly communicate medical concepts across multiple pieces of business in a condensed, audience-appropriate way to client and internal teams Quickly and efficiently conduct independent research of scientific literature and competitor drug labels to gain mastery of multiple medical topics Collaborate with Creative and Account Services to formulate medically sound marketing content Contribute to medically-related client interactions across multiple pieces of business Support the work of copywriters by finding appropriate literature, references, and annotations Assist in the discovery phase of new projects and organization of medical materials, internal documents, and references Proactively participate in and contribute to discussions at team meetings, kickoffs, statuses, and other job-related meetings as needed Manage workflow and ensure adherence to deadlines Demonstrate willingness to work beyond basic responsibilities to assist project teams Qualifications Currently enrolled in a MS, MPH, MD, PharmD or PhD advanced degree program Excellent written and verbal communication skills - it is important that you come with commswriting experience and have writtenfor commercial clients coming from the pharma or health industry Strong analytical and interpretive skills In-depth knowledge of clinical trial design, anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and biostatistics Ability to conduct independent research Ability to analyze and interpret medical/technical/scientific literature Familiar with internet research, PubMed, and other document delivery systems Solid understanding of basic biology, chemistry, and/or clinical study design Capable of working both independently and in a team environment Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint Additional Information At PXP, our most valuable resource is our people - with a diversity of backgrounds, ideas, skills, and life experiences.
