CTR Group is seeking experienced Senior Engineering Technicians / Technical Writers in Portsmouth, Virginia area for Shipyard projects!
SUMMARY:
This position requires application of all qualifications to support the Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Technical codes with the preparation of Technical Working Documents (TWD) such as, Job Summaries, Task Group Instructions (TGI's), and Deficiency Forms (DF's). Order materials, services and rental equipment for ongoing and upcoming availabilities, ship check for interferences, develop estimates and prepare and issue technical working documents. Uses Advance Industrial Management (AIM), Advance Industrial Management Support System (ATIS), Technical Information Manual (TIM), HAYSTACK GOLD, Industrial Process Instruction (IPI), NNSY Documents, Computer Industrial Technical Information System (CITIS), Conversion Liaison Instruction (CVLI's), Maintenance Standards, Tech Manuals, Current Ship's Maintenance Project (CSMP's), and Microsoft office. Equivalent programs or comparable/functional database experience will satisfy requirement.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be graduate of a high school, trade, or industrial school, or correspondence school where, as a minimum, credits were received in the following: Algebra, Plane Geometry, Trigonometry, Drafting, and Physics.
- Completion of 18 semester credits of formal education in an engineering related curriculum above the high school level such as Calculus, Physics, Metallurgy, Structures, Internal Communications, and such, may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
- Minimum 10 years of practical design engineering experience or ten 10 years of practical filed engineering experience, providing problem analysis and resolution including system and components, at a professional level, in responsible design engineering duties, including the following which may have been gained concurrently.
- Minimum 5 years consecutive practical design experience or practical field engineering experience (within last eight (8) years) for construction, conversion, or modernization of U.S. Naval Ships (does not include maritime ship design).
- Able to obtain CAC, NAVSEA badge and NMCI account
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have current CONFIDENTIAL and be eligible for SECRET security clearance.
