Job Description
Citizenship/Clearance requirement: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and pass a background check and drug screening.
SciTech Services, Inc. (SciTech) is seeking a Technical Writer to provide support to the DEVCOM CBC Advanced Design and Manufacturing Division team in developing Technical Manuals for various pieces of equipment. The Technical Writer will transform technical language into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand manuals and guides. Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to ensure that even the most intricate details are clearly communicated.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to ensure intricate details are clearly communicated.
- Standardize data so that language is easily understandable at the required reading levels.
- Create clear and concise manuals that demystify intricate concepts.
- Develop, manage, and deliver documentation and related materials.
- Obtain data from across the customer enterprise regarding language training data.
- Provide support for training documentation and related materials.
- Deliver briefings and speak to small groups of people.
- Provide the customer with as-requested status updates and deliverables.
- Create procedural manuals and materials utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, XML Writing, and SharePoint.
- Apply DoD Technical Manual standards.
Requirements:
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2-years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree plus 4-years of relevant experience, or high school diploma plus 6-years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.
- Degrees suitable for the position include but are not limited to Communications, Journalism, English, or a STEM field.
- Detailed oriented, self-starter, with the ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with varying levels of personnel throughout the organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptable to evolving requirements and changes in schedules.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers and customers.
