Job Description:
SimIS Inc seeks a Technical Writer to provide Integrated Training Systems (ITS) Systems Engineering (SE) support for maritime Training Systems being developed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity, Virginia Beach, VA. The successful candidate will develop and maintain software operator/user manuals and IA system administrator documentation for a major shipboard combat and/or training system. The period of performance begins in late August and includes 1 base year and 4 option years for a total of 5 contract years.
Experience Required:
At least three (3) years of full-time professional experience in the development, review, and/or production of DOD-related technical documentation such as operational/maintenance/installation data documentation using standard military practices.
Perform technical/engineering processes relating to software development and design for the purposes of developing and maintaining software operator/user manuals and IA system administrator documentation.
Creates and publishes technical documentation and manuals.
Collects and interprets technical data or information and coordinates layout for publication.
Special Skills/Knowledge/Training Required:
Associate’s Degree in any graphic arts discipline or English discipline.
